Mental Health Resources

May is a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and to help reduce the stigma so many experience.

At the Whittier Public Library, we want you to remember that our community’s mental health and well-being is important to us and we have some resources to help you get through the tough times.

These are our Mental Health Initiative Kits. Each one is curated with books to help our patrons deal with the harder times in life. Follow the link to find out more about these kits:

We have a variety of topics available including:

Mindfulness & Stress Management

Anxiety

Depression

Substance Abuse

Grief

PTSD

And Mental Health

Education for more general information on the topic of mental health. It should be noted that these kits are NOT a substitute for a mental health care provider and cannot diagnose any conditions. If you are interested in exploring any of these topics, please give us a call at 562-567-9900 we’d be happy to place a kit on hold for you!
